"Fab" place to visit,full of history.Great place to stay,rooms are great and food excellant.decor a little tired but it was built in Henry 8th time.Their dress ball must be really something,nice bar and brillant disco.
Beautiful location, excellent local restaurant and fantastic pub 5 minutes away. Went with 3 families for the weekend and had a great time
The people who run are very nice. The hut does good tea, coffee+ bacon/ sausage bap with some vegetarian option if given a few minutes notice to prepare.The main restaurant was shut for a knee's up when we wanted it but there are some nice pubs about so not a big problem (or we could have gone back later).Not sure I would go back though since the camp area is a big walk from the toilet compared to anywhere else I have stayed and despite the 10 o'clock cut off for music we still had plenty of euro disco beats pumping out at one thirty until there was a bit of a commotion. Personally I could sleep through a marching band passing by but Milady is not so easily pleased. There was also a little noise carrying over from the Manor House so if you need quite or nature noises you may want to look elsewhere.I will say I was really pleasantly surprised how few midges were about considering how close to the water we were.
Lovely place to camp. Small site where you can pitch where you want by the lake. Nice restaurant that's reasonably priced with lovely views across the lake. Also has a small cafe lake-side with lovely staff and the best lattes. Downside is toilet block isn't that near the tent pitches. Will return as its a very peaceful site for a one or two night stay
Really enjoyed playing here. Despite some recent bad weather it had drained really well. I would 100% return and the carvery after was excellent.
